The item offered is a gorgeous in the lifetime of Renee Lalique 1930s clear crystal Ibis Vase. The Ibis is a sacred bird related to knowledge and protection and is usually found mummified in tombs of pharaohs. It is also a long-legged graceful bird found near coastal areas, wetlands, and marshes. The vase is very detailed with many Ibis birds in tall thick stalking plants. You have to look closely inside the plants to find the birds. A stunning example of art glass of the day. The lower part of the vase is satin glass and the upper part of the vase is clear glass. It captures light beautifully.

It does have some light scratches in one area of the upper smooth part of the vase and light scratches on the bottom of the vase [see picture] It does have some impurities in the upper smooth part of the vase usually due to the iron content of earlier Lalique. It is 12% crystal rather than the 24% crystal of Lalique glass of today so it is lighter in weight. The sand-blasted logo has breaks in the letters. less
