Morocco
Beautiful Moroccan ceremonial kaftan in brocaded silk lampas dating from the first third of the 20th century. Cream satin brocaded background with large floral baskets adorned with daisy medallions, produced in Lyon for the Moroccan market or in Fez, which specialised in the manufacture of this type of lampas. The edges of the coat are embroidered with blue and white floche silk and embroidered bell buttons matching the Jewish star. Original white glazed cotton percale lining. The silk is slightly worn away from the armpits (see last photo), otherwise no other visible damage. Collector’s item in very good condition. Possibly wearable.
