A French Empire Reticule in Leather and Steel beads – France Circa 1795-1815

Rare Violin-shaped reticule in embossed morocco, sequins and polished steel beads, complete with its original chain and dating from the first quarter of the 19th century. Rigid frame with cardboard flap covered in leather with small diamonds. Oak leaf dents set with metal sequins in the shape of wheels and diamond-tipped pearls, mechanical closure in polished steel (which works). Amplitude with three bellows, stem and chain of original polished metal. Interior lined with cream satin (small spots). Patina of use, slight oxidation of the metal parts, small scratches especially on the folds, but complete and unmodified collector’s item. Good general condition of color and conservation.
