Central Asia
Beautiful square shawl in transparent purplish silk gauze from one of the republics of Central Asia. Rigid silk decorated with undulating golden yellow floral chains arranged in staggered rows. Bordered by four parallel bands of gold-yellow taffeta with oblique grooves. Knotted fringes in matching colours on all four sides. Very rare minor scuffing of the distended silk, due to its extreme transparency, which does not call into question the solidity of this beautifully held shawl. Wearable today. Very good overall condition in terms of colour and conservation.
