Rare winter set with skirt and corset, very middle class, in Scottish wool tartan and velvet from late Victorian period – North England or Scotland. Adjusted bodice with smal collar in spinach velvet and wool tartan entirely lined with brown and cream woven cotton. Sleeves in velvet with false slashs adorned with buttons on the wrists. Skirt in tartan and velvet adorned with large buttons covered with velvet (a missing one). Buttons in light brown bakelite. Adjoining petticoat in brown wool serge. Except a scratch of 0.8cm on the skirt, a missing button and some stains on the lining of the bodice, very nice condition of freshness and conservation.
