In Chanel’s Spring-Summer 1994 collection, Karl Lagerfeld brought a fresh perspective to the classic suit. The first look from this iconic collection was the legendary ivory suit, adorned with contrasting braided plastique trims, humorously referred to as “Scoubidou” by the French. This iconic piece not only graced runways and Vogue editorials but also earned a spot in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” exhibition.
The open-front jacket features four exterior pockets, the signature Chanel gilt metal chain along the hem, and three black and gold logo buttons on each sleeve.
Despite its age, the jacket remains in very good condition with an impeccable exterior. However, it is worth noting that the interior lining shows typical yellowing around the armholes, a result of the harsh chemicals in deodorants commonly used during the 1990s. Labeled in size 38, we estimate it to comfortably fit a modern day size FR36. Please use the measurements as a guide for the best fit: shoulder 15″, bust 36″, waist 36″, length 22,5″, sleeve 22,5″.
