Gentleman’s breeches in lampas Silk – France Louis XVI period Circa 1780

Beautiful breeches of Gentleman in French faille caca d’oie brocaded in miniature of coffee beans blue-Nattier, breeches most likely for the Court. High-waisted cut with small buttoned bridge and covered in the same, at the waist bone buttons. Polychrome silk embroidered buttons and tabs at the knees. Linings of brown glazed linen buckram and unbleached linen canvas in cleanliness (slight halos). A few areas of rubbing and wear, a patch at the crotch, the only flaws to be noted. Good colour and condition.

Dimensions: 14 year old equivalent. Height 73 cm, waist 80 cm, hips 93 cm.
