Precious Kani long cashmere shawl from India woven in seven-colour tapestry stitch and dating from the end of the Second Empire. A special feature for the 19th century Parisian market is the original finely tufted double reserve in fuchsia and black. Embroidered signature of the Indian craftsman in the central reserves. Harlequin embroidered borders on both ends. These rich shawls were part of wedding baskets. They adorned crinoline dresses and decorated the interiors of the Second Empire. A few very rare moth holes. Stable and very resistant condition. Very good colour and condition.
