Kimono coat in densely embroidered midnight-blue silk satin in stem stitch and bow stitch dating from the late Qing period. Kimono cut with wide sleeves, slit sides and round collar. Closes at the front with five chased brass bell buttons fastened with loops. Rich, fine embroidery in a blue and white camaieu with a design of flowers, peonies, tulips, aquatic plants, cherry trees, insects and dragonflies. Lining in indigo or pastel-dyed silk taffeta (small weaknesses at the collar). There are two small stains on the lower back, the only flaw to be noted. Little or no wear. Very good colour and condition.
Dimensions: large size, measured flat: sleeves to sleeves 149 cm, waist 62 cm, bottom of coat 85 cm, height 123 cm.
