Azzedine Alaïa Haute Couture jacket in black cotton and twine – France Circa 198

A rare corset-effect jacket by Azzedine Alaïa Haute Couture dating from his early creative period in the 1980s. Fitted jacket in black cotton twill gabardine, long sleeves, collar with notched flaps and front fastening with black plastic buttons. Remarkable topstitching wraps around string-coloured hemp cords that are fringed under the chest and on the hips. Small blousant effect in the back and underlining in front of the chest with small side buttoned pocket. No lining but black bias inner belt to crochet to mark the waist. White and black label indicating Alaïa Paris size 40 France. Little or no wear as there are no signs of wear or dirt. A very slight deformation of the string fringes, to be reshaped. Good general condition of colour and conservation. A collector’s piece.

Size: Equivalent to size 38/39 France. Shoulders 45 cm, chest 93 cm, waist 74 cm, hips 94 cm, sleeves 61 cm, height 61 cm.
